SOURCETRAC is a comprehensive system which manages all the resources a state or local government uses when managing an event, or when responding to an emergency. The software uniquely catalogs resources and people, and includes a set of workflows to standardize, manage, and track the collaborative requests and responses of Emergency Support Functions (ESFs), within and across jurisdictional boundaries. SOURCETRAC also enable the collaboration, management, certification, affiliation, and allocation of the resources of non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to fulfill the requirements of government’s emergency management priorities.
SOURCETRAC was initially developed in 2003, and later packaged & productized for the District of Columbia government to support ESFs with donations and volunteer management. In designing the system, careful attention was given to how things work at the field level and to incorporating real-life best practices, creating a tool that offers intuitively simple, easy-to-use features. SOURCETRAC enhances resource management for emergency managers and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) planning needs.
SOURCETRAC has been used in Washington, DC to track resources, requests and allocations for several incidents, including Hurricane Isabel, the IMF demonstration, the distribution of water filters to minimize lead contamination in Washington DC's drinking water, and to manage volunteers during special events, just to name a few.
